Getting Better!

Oh man, it's been another rough week but luckily I got to stay home with my Daddy and Grammies almost all week which was awesome! I had tubes put in both ears on Monday and did really well. I got to go home pretty soon after the surgery and then I spent time cuddling with Mommy before she went to work and then got to cuddle with Daddy the rest of the day. On Tuesday, I got to go to school but had to go home because I had a fever of 102 and was being fussy. When Daddy picked me up, he got pretty scared because I was panting and just acting listless and not really interested in anything. My parents were worried I was having some reaction to the tube surgery and had never seen me look so weak and non-responsive. Usually when I'm sick, I'm still happy and want to play but I just didn't want to have anything to do with anyone. So Daddy and Mommy took me straight to the emergency room where I got x-rays, had blood drawn from my hand, got an enema, got my snot suctioned with a high-power snot machine and then got a couple of breathing treatments. Turned out I had a virus and the doctor thought I had severe constipation which was pushing my tummy out and she said was making it hard for me to breathe which made me pant or wheeze. She also said if I have another wheezing episode, they'd classify me as asthmatic which my parents really don't want but since Daddy has asthma pretty bad, my chances aren't good! On Wednesday I went to Grammy J's and had fun playing with her but I got a fever in the afternoon just like the day before and my breathing was still wheezy even after my breathing treatments so Mommy and Grammy took me in for my follow-up appointment with my normal pediatrician. She gave me another type of breathing treatment and then said with as sick as I've been the last two and a half months that if I get sick at school next week then she'd take me out of the school and get a nanny or put me in a daycare at someone's house where there are only a couple of kids. Me, Mommy and Daddy do not want this at all so we're all crossing our fingers that this week goes smoothly. On Thursday I went to Grandma Carols and got to see Chloe and Cooper and had so much fun but I got a fever again in the afternoon after lunch :( I got to go to Grammy J's again on Friday and finally didn't have a fever after lunch!! I've been fever free ever since and am feeling much better--still coughing like crazy but the doctor said that could last a while... SO, I'm ready for a new week and ready to start feeling great again!

Here I am getting a breathing treatment at the doctor which I did not like AT ALL...

I got to see my cousin Seth Saturday and we watched him go swimming. I couldn't go because my parents are too afraid I'll get sick...bummer for me...

My Grandma Carol got me a new highchair for her house which I love! Daddy thought I looked pretty cute with his sunglasses on while I was ready to eat. He has skewed priorities!

Mommy started selling 31 Gifts and she needed to take pictures for her blog of the new stuff she got. I offered to help spice up the pictures :)

11 1/2 months

Hi friends,

Sorry I missed you last week. I was really busy with school and family and playing, you know, life. I have had a rough couple of weeks. I was pretty sick for 12 days straight on top of having a double ear infection that medicine is not helping. I finally started feeling better Friday and then I woke up yesterday with pink eye in both eyes! I just can't catch a break! Other than that, I had a great couple of weeks. I got to go swimming with my grammies, all three, and got to see my cousin Seth who was visiting. I have a big day coming up tomorrow. I am getting tubes in my ears to try and prevent ear infections so wish me luck! I'll post more about that next week.

A few things about me lately:
--I am such a good Mommy. I love my dolls and take them everywhere. I kiss them and hug them.
--I swing my left arm back and forth as hard as I can when I'm trying to walk faster. I'll be running soon.
--I can follow instructions. If Mommy tells me to go give Bobo (my big bear) a hug, I go give him a hug. If she tells me to give Daddy a hug, I give him a hug. Yesterday with Grandma Carol, Mommy was reading a book to me about animals and asked me which animal was which and three times in a row, I pointed to the right animal. Mommy's not convinced it wasn't a coincidence, but I know what animals are which!
--I cry when Mommy and Daddy drop me off at school now. It started about a week and a half ago. I only cry a little bit when Daddy drops me off and a ton when Mommy drops me off.
--I love starches. I like bread and tortilla and french fries. I am definitely Mommy's daughter. I also love ice cream and will not let Mommy and Daddy have theirs because I want it.

I love all of my bears and I have several. I carry them all around and make mmm sounds when I hug them!

I had a really good time swimming with my Grammies and Mommy but everyone got sick after we went swimming so I don't think we'll be going back! I was not afraid of the water at all and did not want to get out!

I had to wear a rubber diaper that Grandma Carol had so that it would help keep diaper leakage in. My parents thought I looked adorable but it was really sad that I needed this diaper cover in the first place. Like I said, it was a rough couple of weeks.

I had a fun time playing with Seth and Grammy Wandie.

I don't know where I got pink eye but it sure came on fast! I am much better now though.

The tissues were out where I could reach them since I needed them to keep my eyes clean. I figured since I could reach them, I could play with them!

11 months today!!!

Hi Friends,

I'm 11 months old today!!! It's been a rough couple of days...seems to be the story of my life these last couple of months! I haven't been feeling the best the last few days. I have been really whiny, drooly, I don't want to eat anything other than my milk, and I'm not sleeping well. I had my first visit to the ER last night because my parents just knew something wasn't right with me because I'm always such a good girl (I've totally got them wrapped around my sweet little finger...) and they were worried since I hadn't been eating much for several days and I had a low fever. Mommy thought I might have another ear infection or strep throat because of all the drooling but it turns out I have another very common childhood illness---hand, foot, and mouth. Someone at my school had it this week but they were in another class so we thought we were in the clear but apparently if there is anything at all going around my school, I'm going to get it! So, there's nothing we can do to treat the pain and hopefully it will go away in a couple more days. Until then, I just get lots of attention.

A few more things about me...
--I love my bath time, the splashing, the toys (not so much the getting cleaned part!), but now I love to put my face in the water and drink it which drives Daddy crazy...bonus!
--I said bye a couple of times this week to my Daddy.
--I really love to dance and love to have my Mommy dance with me. Daddy thinks she's a terrible dancer but she doesn't care and is happy to dance with me no matter how silly she looks. We have a lot of fun!
--We went to the park tonight and I really just like to walk around and check out the other kids. I will walk right up to them, no matter how old they are, and want all of them to give me attention. I
--I was at my Grammies' house today and we were playing with a bouncy ball and if I was able to intercept it, I would carry it to whomever the ball was originally going to.

I got a massive bear at Costco yesterday and loooove all of him. His name is Bobo. We were going to call him Squatch but we settled on Bobo which is a lot easier to say for me than Squatch. I couldn't even wait to get home to play with him!

My cousin Seth is in town. I got to have breakfast with him and my Grammies today. I had Grammy's awesome waffles and some eggs. Then I got this cool toy that I can push around and Seth was showing me all the different features. I wish Seth was always here.
